The 2018 International ASME Turbomachinery Technical Conference & Exposition (ASME Turbo Expo 2018) was held in Oslo, Norway. The conference & exposition was presented by the ASME International Gas Turbine Institute.
The ASME Turbo Expo is the highest-level conference in the field of turbomachinery technology in the world. It is recognized as the must-attend event for turbomachinery professionals working in the turbine industry. The technical conference has a well-earned reputation for bringing together the best and brightest experts from around the world to share the latest in turbine technology, research, development, and application. The conference consisted of 45 special sessions, covering all important research contents in the field of turbomachinery technology such as compressor, turbine, combustion, heat transfer, control, and air system. Nearly 3,000 experts and scholars attended the event and over 1,000 technical papers were presented in over 400 technical sessions.
Under the leadership of Profs. Zhanxue Wang, Hong Yan and Cunliang Liu, the NPU delegation organized more than 10 faculty members and more than 30 students to participate in this event. As an extremely important part of the ASME Turbo Expo, the exhibition attracted many internationally renowned companies and leading universities including GE, Siemens, ANSYS, NASA, NUMECA, and Sheffield University. Northwestern Polytechnical University is one of the first universities in China to set up the booth for recruitment. The exhibition also attracted many young scholars from famous universities, such as University of Oxford and Imperial College London, and etc. Through exchanges and consultations, young scholars had a new understanding of NPU.
